Overview

During this course, students will learn how to properly use a variety of fall arrest resources, such as harnesses, lines, lanyards and industrial fall arresters. The course covers, in detail, how these resources should be used in lifts, ladder trucks, and with a roof set, as used by fire services.

The Objectives

The Safe Working at Height for Production Crew (SWAHPC) course gives production crew members the knowledge and skills required to recognise height-related risks and apply appropriate safe systems of work. During this course students will learn how to apply a wide range of control measures including PPE, work restraint, and fall arrest systems in order to safely move, work, and operate in exposed environments. The Safe Working at Height (SWAH) course provides insight into the dangers that workers face when working at height and the current legislation in this area. Often, workers are faced with working at height during their jobs. Employment regulations clearly state that this must be done safely.

Day 1: Safe Working at Heights course will cover: • Foundation knowledge • Use of work restraint • Anchors • Emergency descending (if used by agency) Day 2: Co Worker Rescue at Height which will cover the following: • Foundation knowledge • Emergency descending (if used by agency) • Individual pick-offs • Knots and anchors Use of handlines in vertical and horizontal situations.

This is a practical course and some time will be spent outdoors on our site - prepare for any weather! - T-shirt, thermal layer/base layer, - fleece top, tracksuit bottoms, - trainers, - warm hat, - gloves, - waterproof jacket and trouser, - Drinks bottle/flask
How should I prepare?
You must be capable of independently working safely with fall protection equipment.
