Overview

This course is aimed at anyone going into an advanced white water environment and wanting to know the relevant skills to make decisions and remain safe. We'll cover all aspects of the British Canoeing white water safety and rescue syllabus.

The Objectives

The aim is that you'll be able to apply the techniques taught at White Water Safety and Rescue Training in an advanced environment, and appreciate the team approach concept that provides structure in an emergency situation.

What to Expect


Both days will be spent on local rivers looking at practical applications of the syllabus.

Experience Required

Competent Grade III paddler with some experience of Grade IV. A reliable moving water roll.

Have attended a British Canoeing White Water Safety and Rescue Training course (ideally in the previous three years)

We want to help you focus on achieving your goals, so comfortable accommodation (with WIFI included) and good food are part of the deal - you don't need to think about sorting this out for yourself. Support is on hand from our friendly, and exceptionally well qualified, staff to help develop your understanding and personal skills. They also help you to formulate an appropriate action plan for your further development. What's more, you'll have access to our extensive range of paddling equipment and clothing to use whilst honing your chosen skills. This gives you the perfect opportunity to test out that new piece of kit you've had your eye on. You just bring yourself, your 'can do' attitude, and determination to achieve excellence.
