Overview

Spend five days with us covering all the elements of both the British Canoeing advanced open water canoe leader training and the British Canoeing advanced white water leader training. This five day comprehensive offering will set you up with a realistic, individualised and personalised pathway and action plan to becoming a successful open canoe leader in both advanced environments. Time will be spent developing and challenging personal skills (both solo and tandem) and leadership skills to bring the syllabus and standards of the British Canoeing advanced canoe leader awards to life.

The Objectives

To delve into the syllabuses for all the training elements required before assessments. This includes covering the advanced open water canoe leader syllabus and advanced white water canoe leader training syllabus. Rescue training in these environments will also take place.

Five days covering all the required training elements to build a comprehensive pathway and action plan towards the assessments of both the advanced open water canoe leader award and the advanced white water canoe leader award.

What do I need to bring?
All you really need to bring is sufficient base clothing to wear under a wetsuit and some suitable footwear. Our stores have a range of Peak UK soft wear as well as paddles and poles. We have an extensive selection of different styles of canoes and kayaks from a range of manufacturers. This is an ideal opportunity to try something new if you'd like to. If you prefer the familiar, feel free to bring along your own kit. We have rescue dry suits available for these elements of the training but if you have your own we would advise you to bring it along
How should I prepare?
Be comfortable and confident in both the moderate white water and open water environments (as stated by the National Governing Body)
