Overview

Join our top coaches for a five-day program designed to hone your paddling technique and take your skills to new heights. Ideal for competent grade 2 paddlers with some experience of grade 3, who have some experience of open water paddling. This program promises an exhilarating and skill-enhancing experience. Throughout the week, you’ll be working closely with our highly experienced and qualified coaches on rivers of grade 2-3, exploring different styles such as tight, technical, or bigger volume paddling, all depending on water levels and on open water in winds up to force 4+. As the week progresses, you’ll enjoy fantastic paddling and feel your skill level soar, resulting in a significant improvement in your techniques.

The Objectives

You’ll build on your foundation skills in more challenging river types such as bigger volume, tight and technical and drops. Gain confidence on open water in strong winds and have a good understanding of sailing and trad skills.

Itinerary

You’ll spend each day at a suitable local venue working to progress your skills to reach your desired level of performance. On day one you’ll revisit your foundation skills before progressing to a range of river types including bigger volume, tight and technical and drops and to open water venues in strong winds. Expect technical and tactical paddling in a grade 2/3 environment, sailing, traditional skills and rescue skills.

Experience Required

Competent Grade II paddler with some experience of Grade III. Experience of paddling in windy conditions. Some experience of self-rescue. You should have paddled in grade II and on open water recently.
