Discover one of the most atmospheric and fascinating corners of Eryri on an unforgettable e-bike adventure to Pont Scethin. Follow ancient trackways across remote uplands, uncover stories of drovers, pilgrims and travellers, and enjoy spectacular views from the mountains to the coast.

With the assistance of an e-bike, you'll have the freedom to explore this incredible landscape while enjoying a rewarding full day in the mountains.

Few rides in Eryri combine history, wilderness and scenery quite like the journey to Pont Scethin.

This full-day adventure takes you away from the busy tourist routes and into the remote uplands of southern Eryri. Following historic tracks and ancient crossing routes, we'll explore a landscape shaped by centuries of farming, travel and industry.

The centrepiece of the ride is Pont Scethin, a remarkable 17th-century packhorse bridge standing alone amongst the hills between the Rhinogydd and the coast.

Along the way, enjoy sweeping views across Cardigan Bay, the Llŷn Peninsula, the Rhinogydd, Cadair Idris and the mountains of southern Eryri.

The Objectives

Journey into the wild heart of southern Eryri on an unforgettable e-bike adventure to Pont Scethin. Following ancient roads across remote uplands and historic landscapes, this ride combines mountain scenery, Welsh history and a true sense of exploration, culminating at one of the most iconic bridges in Snowdonia.

9:00am – Meet your Instructor at Plas y Brenin

Meet your experienced Instructor, get to know the group and have a quick briefing and bike check before setting off on your adventure.

The Ride

Through the Hills

The adventure begins with a steady climb onto the open uplands above the Ardudwy coast.

As height is gained, spectacular views develop across:

Cardigan Bay

The Llŷn Peninsula

The Rhinogydd

Cadair Idris

The mountains of southern Eryri

The climb is perfectly suited to e-bikes, allowing riders to appreciate the landscape without worrying about the long ascent.

Ancient Trackways

The route follows historic routes that have linked communities across these mountains for centuries.

Riding here feels like travelling through another age. Narrow stone tracks, old boundary walls and scattered ruins tell the story of a landscape once busy with farming, quarrying and movement between valley and coast.

Pont Scethin

Emerging onto the high moorland, the route eventually reaches Pont Scethin itself.

Built during the seventeenth century, the bridge remains one of the most iconic historic structures in Eryri.

This is the ideal place for:

Return Journey,

The route loops back through the hills using a mixture of historic tracks, stone roads and forest roads.

As the afternoon light begins to sweep across the landscape, riders enjoy long descents and ever-changing views towards the sea.

The final miles provide a fitting conclusion to one of the most distinctive rides in Wales.

Return to Plas y Brenin by 5pm for Tea & Cake and a debrief before heading home.
