Your Guide will bring the landscape to life, sharing stories of the mountains, their history and the people who have lived and worked amongst them. |The pace and route will be chosen to suit the day's weather and conditions, allowing you to enjoy a rewarding day in the mountains without rushing.

The Objectives

Your day will take you through a variety of landscapes across the Glyderau Mountains. The exact route will depend on the prevailing weather and conditions, ensuring we choose the best and most enjoyable adventure for the day. |Expect approximately 4–5 hours of walking, with plenty of opportunities to pause, enjoy the views and discover more about the area's fascinating natural and cultural heritage. |Along the way, your expert Guide will share their knowledge of the local landscape and history, helping you see the Glyderau from a different perspective.

Itinerary

9:00am – Meet your Guide

Meet your experienced local Guide at Plas y Brenin and get ready for a day exploring the spectacular Glyderau Mountains. Your Guide will check everyone is prepared for the conditions, talk through the plan for the day and make sure you have everything you need before setting off.

Morning – Discover the Glyderau

Head into the mountains and experience the changing colours of autumn across the Glyderau. As you walk, your Guide will share stories of the landscape, its history and the people who have lived and worked in these mountains. Take your time to enjoy the dramatic scenery and fresh mountain air.

Lunch – Refuel with a view

Take a break for a picnic lunch and enjoy the mountain surroundings. It's a chance to rest, recharge and take in the views before continuing your adventure.

Afternoon – Explore and enjoy

Continue your journey through the varied landscapes of the Glyderau Mountains. The exact route will be chosen according to the weather and conditions, allowing your Guide to make the most of the day and show you some of the best autumn scenery the area has to offer.

By 5:00pm – Back to Plas y Brenin

Return to the Centre for a well-earned cup of tea and a slice of cake. Relax and chat with your Guide about the day's highlights before heading home.

What to expect: A rewarding day exploring one of Eryri's most spectacular mountain ranges, combining beautiful autumn scenery, fascinating local history and expert guidance. Come and discover the Glyderau at their colourful autumn best.

Experience Required

This walk is suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness and some experience of walking in an upland environment. |You should be comfortable walking for 4–5 hours, both on and off paths, and be able to carry your own day rucksack.
