Join us for an adventurous day on the water in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia), designed to refine your white water skills and build your confidence on more challenging terrain.
With expert coaching and a venue selected around your goals and ability, this open canoe masterclass is your opportunity to push your paddling further and discover what you're capable of.
Ready to take your open canoeing beyond Grade 2? This advanced coaching day is designed for confident Grade 2/3 paddlers who want to refine their technique, improve their decision-making and become more effective on Grade 3 white water.
We'll start by understanding what you want to achieve and then work together to create a plan for the day. Depending on the weather, river levels and your objectives, we'll select a suitable white water venue, with the potential to paddle sections up to Grade 3 (and potentially Grade 4).
Eryri offers a fantastic variety of rivers and environments, giving us plenty of opportunities to tailor the day to you.
Whether you want to improve your technical skills, become more confident in dynamic water or simply challenge yourself in a new environment, our expert coaches will help you take the next step in your paddling journey.

The day will explore dynamic paddling, river reading, tracking, lining and portaging, while identifying individual areas for continued progression.
9:00am – Meet your Instructor at Plas y Brenin
Meet your expert Instructor, discuss your experience and goals for the day, and agree on a plan tailored to your paddling needs and the conditions.
Morning – On the Water
Head to a suitable white water venue and get started with your coaching. Develop your technical and tactical skills, work on your confidence in dynamic water and explore the challenges of the river.
Lunch – Refuel & Recharge
Take a well-earned break for lunch and enjoy the riverside surroundings before getting back on the water for the afternoon.
Residential bookings: Packed lunches are included.
Non-residential bookings: Please bring your own lunch and snacks.
Afternoon – Continue Your Adventure
Make the most of the day's coaching, building on your morning's learning and tackling skills and challenges suited to your goals. Your Instructor will adapt the session to the river conditions and your progression.
By 5:00pm – Back at Plas y Brenin
Return to Plas y Brenin for a well-earned tea and cake, followed by a relaxed debrief with your Instructor. Reflect on the day's progress, discuss your key learning points and identify some useful next steps for your continued paddling development before heading home.

Be a confident Grade 2/3 paddler
