WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED TRAINEE INSTRUCTOR TO JOIN OURINSTRUCTIONAL TEAM AT THE NATIONAL OUTDOOR CENTRE.

The Trainee Instructor Scheme offers the opportunity of training, personal development and work experience at Plas y Brenin, the National Outdoor Centre in
Capel Curig, North Wales.
The scheme will help you to develop your career in the outdoor sector. You will support the centre by assisting in many aspects of the day-to-day operation. You will receive training to assist the instructors, before working on our introductory programme of multi activity courses. This is the perfect opportunity for motivated and focused individuals who want to gain experience working in the outdoor sector. You will also
assist with running the climbing wall, in stores and driving.
You will have opportunities to observe and shadow our expert instructors, develop your own leadership, instructional and coaching skills, and gain National Governing Body awards such as your Mountain Leader Award and your Paddle Sport Instructor.
Throughout the scheme you will be mentored by our highly experienced senior and lead instructors.

If you are someone who is highly motivated and has a variety of outdoor experience and skills, a team player with good communication skills, be flexible in attitude and your approach to working.

  • You should have a passion and enthusiasm for working in the outdoors with people, and actively participate in outdoor activities yourself.
  • To act within the companies values and be an ambassador for Plas y Brenin throughout employment
  • A commitment and enthusiasm for the vision and aims of Plas y Brenin, the National
    Outdoor Centre.
  • To provide excellent customer service throughout all duties
  • To achieve personal development goals and complete the training assigned
  • To carry out additional tasks as requested by the manager
  • To be able to work on own initiative to resolve issues in a calm and proactive manner
  • To be able to complete a variety of different tasks in alignment with the business
    needs

 

Living and working on-site, you will also be immersed in the day-to-day operations of the centre, and build up a range of experience across instruction, facilities and customer services.
