Anglesey is a beautiful and varied island. Recognised as a world geopark for its unique geology, and surrounded by world famous tidal streams. The circumnavigation of this island is a challenge amongst beautiful scenery
The aim of this challenge is to get around the whole island (weather dependant), and to build the skills and confidence that will fire you up to plan your own adventure.

We'd expect to be paddling for around six hours each day with breaks for lunch and time for you to enjoy the surroundings.
Experience Required
Experienced in moderate conditions and force 4 winds, competent sea kayak skills and good paddling fitness.
All you really need to bring is sufficient | base clothing to wear e.g. costume for under a wetsuit, thermal and fleece layer | for the top. In addition, some suitable footwear that will fit comfortably in a | kayak and lace up to keep them on in the water. Our stores have a wide range of | Peak UK soft wear as well as paddles for you to use. We have an extensive | selection of different styles of kayaks from a range of manufacturers. This is | an ideal opportunity to try something new if you'd like to. If you prefer the | familiar, feel free to bring along your own kit. A hat to protect you from the | heat or the cold may be useful, as would suncream, a dry bag for your lunch, a | waterproof camera to capture some memories and a water bottle that can be | accessed easily throughout the day. The hydration packs that can be accessed | whilst paddling are really useful for this e.g. Camelbak
How should I prepare?
You should be a regular sea kayaker in force 4 winds, and already have some experience of camping from a sea kayak (if you haven't, but the idea grabs you, check out our 'Try Expedition Paddling' course). We'll invariably be paddling for around six hours per day so come prepared for five days of continuous activity.
