Two days spent around some of North Wales' finest coastlines assessing all of the required abilities as stated in the British Canoeing 'Advanced Sea Kayak Leader' syllabus. This will include personal paddling skills, leadership skills and rescue skills in open water tide races, surf and committing trips.
See Course Dates & PricesThe aim of this assessment is to test your skill level, leadership ability and judgment to lead paddlers with a range of experience, up to and including advanced tidal water. You'll need to demostrate the judgment to select appropriate environments for paddlers with a range of experience.
The assessment will include a planning exercise followed by a day into night sea kayaking in advanced conditions. The second day will be used to visit aspects of the syllabus not covered on the first day.
