Overview

This course aims to bring to life all of the theoretical and practical elements of the core coach training in the white water environment. Two days will be spent covering the 'White Water Kayak Coach' syllabus to build an action plan for assessment.

The Objectives

You'll have gained invaluable guidance to help you achieve the White Water Kayak Coach Award Qualification, and have your own action plan to help your development continue. If you're not working towards the qualification, you'll go away with plenty of practical guidance to support your ongoing learning and development.

What to Expect


You'll spend day one applying the Coach Core behaviours to the moderate white water environment. On day two, you'll apply these principles practically as part of a coaching session. You'll have peer feedback and observation as well as trainer feedback. We'll then finish with an action planning session to prepare you for assessment.


Experience Required

Prior to attending the course you must have completed a number of prerequisites; | | Full Home Nation Association Membership | Core Coach Training | White Water Kayak Leader Award | Your personal paddling skills should be well developed so that the full focus of the the course is on coaching skills. We also recommend that you're able to demonstrate the skills you've developed from the White Water Kayak Leader award. You'll also need good knowledge of the discipline of white water kayaking, as this provides the content of what you'll be coaching.
