The Objectives

This course, aimed at people operating to Hard Severe standard, as per the famous book “Classic Rock”, will be fantastic journey around the area, matching weather and conditions to the teams aims and objectives to max out the weekend, and give you the best experience possible out of your time with us. We will not necessarily climb specific routes from the book, but will aim to climb routes of a similar nature as appropriate to conditions.

Do as many pitches of classic rock climbing as the weather, conditions and your arms will allow on this fun packed weekend tour! This is a guided course with no emphasis on coaching or instruction, so while our staff will happily share knowledge along the way, it is not the main theme of this course.

Warm outdoor wear which is comfortable to climb in - at all times of year e.g. walking trousers (shorts in summer), wicking base layers, fleeces which are comfortable to climb in Warm hat, gloves, sun hat Trainers or approach shoes Day rucksack (approx. 40-50 Litres) Small personal first aid kit Water bottle and or Flask Waterproof jacket and trousers Lunch box/bag High factor sunscreen Midge repellent Notebook and pen If you already have: Rock boots Chalk bag Harness Helmet Belay device The following items are available for you to borrow from our equipment stores so you don't need to rush out to buy them. Good climbing fitness levels for 2 days rock climbing and be currently seconding hard severe climbs.
