Overview

If you want to discover what it's like to move on the water's surface with complete freedom, and to take up a sport that can lead you to new and exciting places and fantastic adventures, then paddlesports are for you. We're really pleased to be working with Whitewater The Canoe Centre at Shepperton Marina, where you'll have the chance to try out the latest canoes, kayaks and paddleboards on a fun-filled day on the water. This day is a brilliant option if you are considering taking up paddling, but don't quite know where to start. With an experienced instructor on-hand and a range of different craft to try, we hope you'll finish the day with a smile on your face and a new passion to pursue. Your instructor will take you through all the foundation skills you need to progress. and make sure you understand safety on the water.

The Objectives

You'll have gained all the skills you need for the best possible start in kayaking. By the end of the day you'll have all of the foundation skills you need to progress confidently in your new sport. | You'll cover basic skills, clothing, equipment and safety, all while enjoying plenty of time on the water.

Itinerary

You'll meet at Whitewater the Canoe Centre for a 9am start. The address is Whitewater The Canoe Centre, Shepperton Marina, Felix Ln, Shepperton, TW17 8NS

We'll hand out the hire kit you need, and then get you on the water for as much of the day as we can!

A full day on the water with a qualified instructor

Hire of any boats or paddleboards you'd like to try out

All the essential water safety kit you'll need.

Plenty of sun cream| Sun hat| Spare layer (for both hot and cold weather)| Lots of drinking water| More food than you'd normally eat| Clothes you don't mind getting wet| Shoes that you can wear in the boats (old trainers or wetsuit boots are great; Crocs, wellies, flipflops or walking boots aren't)| Towel
