Overview

Spend 2 days enjoying the best bits of mountain biking - the downhills! Not for armour wearing full-face-helmet riders, this weekend is more suited to you if you just want to develop your downhill technique and confidence to improve your cross country riding. You'll enjoy some great technique coaching from our mountain bike coaches and get lots and lots of downhill practice. We'll even provide a vehicle to get you up to the top of the hills, minimising the uphill pedalling. It's the kind of weekend that makes you remember what it was like to be a kid. We’re surrounded by some of the finest mountain biking routes in Europe, with world class single track routes, including the Gwydyr Forest trails and the Penmachno Trail right outside our back door. Other classic trails at Coed y Brenin and Coed Llandegla are only a short drive from our centre. Plus, there’s the iconic ride of Snowdon. But you'll also find purpose-built skills and coaching circuit and bike workshop facility with a wide range of tools and resources, plus maps to help you get the most from the area.

You can now hire a Mountain Bike - subject to availability at the time of enquiry for Plas y Brenin. The cost is £35 per day. Please contact us via e-mail to info@pyb.co.uk to make your enquiry.

The Objectives

You'll gain confidence when hitting the trails, with better flow on the downhill sections.

Itinerary

* Please note: Itinerary is subject to weather and availability.

What to Expect

We'll cover general rider skills and check your skill level. We'll then move on to coach you in key downhill skills, and you'll practice them on local trails.

Experience Required

You should be competent on blue and most red trails but you'll lack confidence on steeper looser sections. You should be fit enough to ride for 4-5 hours a day for two days.

We want to help you focus on achieving your goals. So if you're staying with us, comfortable accommodation (with WIFI included) and good food are part of the deal, you don't need to think about sorting this out for yourself. Support is on hand from our friendly, and exceptionally well qualified staff, to help develop your understanding and personal skills. They also help you to formulate an appropriate action plan for your further development. You'll also have use of our bike workshop facility. And we'll provide transport to move you uphill.
