Overview

Having trouble with your roll - or have you 'lost' it all together? This two-day course is ideal for you. Progressing at your own pace, our coaches will assess your roll and design a programme to consolidate and refine your technique. The venues used will be appropriate to your skill level. This could include our heated pool and local water, such as our lake and river.

The aim is to help unlock the kayak roll and that you'll leave with a confident reliable pool roll.

What to Expect

There'll be a mix of practical sessions aimed at building and solidifying the roll you already have. This will include identifying strengths and weaknesses, a personal action plan, and methods to coach yourself away from us. We'll use venues like our heated swimming pool and lake/rivers, as and when appropriate.

Experience Required

You should be able to perform a confident capsize and have rolled before.

We want to help you focus on achieving your goals, so comfortable accommodation (with WIFI included) and good food are part of the deal - you don't need to think about sorting this out for yourself. Support is on hand from our friendly, and exceptionally well qualified, staff to help develop your understanding and personal skills. They also help you to formulate an appropriate action plan for your further development. What's more, you'll have access to our extensive range of paddling equipment and clothing to use whilst honing your chosen skills. You just bring yourself, your 'can do' attitude, and determination to achieve excellence.

What do I need to bring?
Our pool is equipped with kayaks of various sizes and shapes. You may wish to bring your own wetsuit, spraydeck, paddle etc, but we provide you with all of these. You'll find it useful to bring along a nose clip to ease the sinuses from continuous immersion.
How should I prepare?
Rolling can be tiring, so being fit will help you get the most from the course. Flexibility is another key factor in success so increasing your flexibility and mobility well ahead of the course will help to ensure success.
