The Objectives

You'll have honed your skills catching a ride on ocean waves, whether out a sea or close to the edge

What to Expect

You'll spend both days at a suitable tide race looking at catching that killer wave! We'll show you how to do it more effectively and maximise your ride time on each one you catch. If it's too windy for tide races we'll use that wind to surf ocean waves and the beach waves that they create.

Experience Required

You'll be an active sea paddler with a solid roll. You'll have a thirst to get in amongst the bigger waves and the challenges that brings.

What do I need to bring?
All you really need to bring is sufficient base clothing to wear e.g. costume for under a wetsuit, thermal and fleece layer for the top. In addition, some suitable footwear that will fit comfortably in a kayak and lace up to keep them on in the water. Our stores have a wide range of Peak UK soft wear as well as paddles for you to use. We have an extensive selection of different styles of kayaks from a range of manufacturers. This is an ideal opportunity to try something new if you'd like to. If you prefer the familiar, feel free to bring along your own kit. A hat to protect you from the heat or the cold may be useful, as would suncream, a dry bag for your lunch, a waterproof camera to capture some memories and a water bottle that can be accessed easily throughout the day. The hydration packs that can be accessed whilst paddling are really useful for this e.g. Camelbak
How should I prepare?
You'll be out regularly and be comfortable in moderate sea conditions.
