Overview

The Tailee Tribe is a group for dedicated paddlers looking to play their way down the river. It’s a group for young people who are regular paddlers and keen to look at their usual river running spots differently!

The Objectives

Each day is tailored to the individuals in the group and paddling venues are chosen to suit. Typical objectives for the Tailee Tribe could include:

  • Look at playing on a variety of river features
  • Introduce and perfect down river freestyle moves

Itinerary

We structure the week to ensure that all paddlers can get the most out of it. With one coach to four paddlers, time is spent getting to know each paddler individually. The week aims to include a variety of sections of river and local playsports. The heated rolling pool and local flatwater venues may also be used to refine skills to take to the river at a later date too.

Experience Required

This course is for young people with regular white water kayaking experience. The Tailee Tribe should be water confident, be able to fit and escape a kayak while using a spraydeck, have a reliable moving water roll and be comfortable on grade 3 before joining the course.

Welcome to Play The River Summer Camp! Our brand-new addition is all about having a blast on the water. From tail squirts to cartwheels and soul surfing, you'll learn the art of paddling a slicey kayak. Boost your confidence, practice controlled manoeuvres, and impress your friends with your kayaking skills.
