Winter transforms Eryri's mountain ridges and scrambling routes into extraordinary places. Snow, ice, frozen rock and changing weather create an environment where familiar summer routes can become serious mountain adventures.
Our Winter Scrambles in Eryri long weekend offers three days of guided winter scrambling, combining memorable mountain journeys with opportunities to develop your technical skills, confidence and judgement.
We'll aim to experience a variety of winter scrambling terrain, from rocky ridges and mixed ground to steeper snow-covered slopes, selecting routes appropriate to the group's experience and the prevailing conditions. You'll develop your understanding of movement on winter terrain, efficient use of an ice axe and crampons, route-finding and the techniques used to manage more exposed or technical sections.
